In response to the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles, the Ojai Horse & Herd Network, led by Cole Bush, has been working tirelessly to evacuate and care for displaced horses, sheep, and goats. This dedicated team is coordinating emergency rescues, providing temporary housing, and ensuring the safety and well-being of these animals during this critical time.

Wildfires are a modern tragedy of the West—intensified not just by drought and changing climates, but also by decades of mismanagement of lands and resources. These fires threaten not only the land itself but also the animals and communities that rely on it. In the face of these challenges, the work of agrarians and animal caretakers has become more crucial than ever.
